Your profile is where you showcase your skills and put your best foot forward as a writer.

Share your expertise in any of the technical areas to gain more clients on Scripted. Scripted offers sub-categories for Technology such as IT, coding, web development, electronics, artificial intelligence, and more.

Creating Long-term Relationships

Many different kinds of companies need technology content on a regular basis. They may need to explain how their software works or showcase the benefits of a new mobile app. Whatever their needs, you can build long-term relationships with these companies by winning their trust. Trust is won by:

  • being able to translate complex tech topics into simple language
  • showing that you understand their brand
  • writing clear, concise, and engaging content without fluff
  • meeting deadlines and following guidelines closely

Once you begin delivering great work to your technology clients, they'll be happy to leave good reviews, hire you again, and even tip you through Scripted. As a tech writer, you'll be valued for your ability to:

  • understand the costs, pros, and cons of popular tools
  • explain how technology is affecting different industries and businesses

Get Technology Gigs Faster with SmartMatch

As a writer, you may be very familiar with submitting pitches. You may be familiar with how much time it takes to create pitches and get accepted. It could take days or even weeks for clients to approve a pitch. This is why Scripted also offers SmartMatch jobs, which you can claim immediately without pitching ideas. SmartMatch jobs are sometimes available to all writers. In other cases, you'll need to be a Platinum tier writer or have industry expertise. Industry expertise is easy to obtain, and you can apply for it right away if you already have published technology writing samples. With SmartMatch, writers can save time and energy, avoid writing lengthy pitches and get started on articles instantly. As a tech writer, you might claim SmartMatch jobs such as:

  • technology product reviews
  • social posts or webpage content for tech companies
  • software and other tool comparisons
  • press releases or new product announcements

How to Pitch Ideas & Win Gigs

Finding freelance writing jobs in technology is as simple as putting in the work. Once you have access to Scripted's Blog Ideas section, you can browse through companies that need content. Once you find someone who is looking for technology blogs, simply read their guidelines, think of a topic, and submit a brief pitch. In each pitch, you'll include your price, word count, and a general outline of what you'll write about. Clients love to see that you have expertise in technology. Including some specific samples of your work helps strengthen your pitch and increases the likelihood that they will accept it. Technology writers can strengthen their pitches with:

  • published technology blogs
  • content written for other tech companies
  • any past experience in tech, such as working as an IT consultant
  • certifications that show expertise in the topic

As a Scripted writer, you have the autonomy to work when you want, set your own rates, build a dynamic portfolio, and get repeat clients you love to work with.

Set Prices Your Knowledge and Experience Deserve

When you pitch an idea on Scripted, you get to set a price that you believe is fair to the client and your experience. Clients can even send you an additional tip to reward you for excellent work.

Every project has a minimum price that ensures writers get paid a fair amount. You always control how much you charge, but the minimum prevents writers from drastically undercutting each other for jobs.

Work as Much or as Little as You Want

Some writers at Scripted use the platform to earn a little extra money. Others rely on it as their main source of income.

You can use Scripted to write as much or as little as you want. As a freelance writer, you control your schedule.

Quick Payments for Accepted Projects

Scripted partners with Stripe to get money in your bank account quickly. You can usually expect payments to reach your account within three to five days after your client accepts the project, depending on your Writer Tier.

Scripted's platform lets you track all of your projects and payments through a convenient dashboard.

Manage All of Your Clients From One Dashboard

As a freelance writer, staying organized can be a big challenge. As a Scripted writer you can manage all your customers, jobs, and pitches in one dashboard so you know what to prioritize and what stage every job is in. Each job is placed in one of these four stages:

  • Proposals – pitches that clients are still considering.
  • Writing – assignments with upcoming deadlines.
  • Editing – projects in the editing stage before they get sent to clients.
  • Ready for Review – jobs now in clients' hands ready for acceptance.

You can also use the Scripted dashboard to manage your Writer Portfolio, writing samples, payments, and job invitations.
