About Avi D.
Avi Duckor-Jones is a New Zealand born writer, and is currently based in New York City. Initially trained as a lawyer, he gained an MFA in creative writing in 2013 from Victoria University's prestigious International Institute of Modern Letter's, and his articles, short stories, and essays, have been featured with numerous publications since. He is a contributor for BBC Travel, and the travel and lifestyle website Roads and Kingdoms. His article on hitchiking around Baja, Mexico, was featured in Lonely Planet's most recent literary anthology: "Better Than Fiction 2." Having lived and worked around the world, he currently works as a trip leader and creative writing instructor for National Geographic Student Expeditions.
