Creating Your Optimal Profile As an Insurance Freelance Writer

If you're considering starting a freelance writing job and have expertise in the field of insurance, you might be wondering how you can consistently find insurance freelance writing jobs.

Scripted clients are looking for skilled professionals who can deliver top-notch content on their insurance freelance writing jobs and the first thing they'll see about you is your Scripted profile. To optimize your profile and increase your chances of being invited to write or winning pitches for insurance freelance writing jobs, you'll want to keep these tips in mind when creating your writer's profile:

  • Keep it professional and concise; everything in your bio should illustrate your authority and why you're the best writer for a Scrtiped client's insurance freelance writing jobs.
  • Use a well-lit profile picture and crop it around your face. It always helps to have a friendly smile as well.
  • Upload writing samples. If you don't have any samples yet, writing spec pieces and publishing them on your blog, Medium page or LinkedIn profile is perfectly fine until you have paid articles to post on your profile.

How to Create Long-term Relationships with Clients on Scripted

Scripted makes it easy to build long-term relationships with our clients who want quality writers to deliver on their insurance freelance writing jobs. Upon accepting a job, message the client to introduce yourself, say thank you, and ask any questions you might have after reviewing the content brief. Doing so opens the door to communication and cultivates trust in the client.

From there, deliver high-quality content that adheres to all the guidelines and objectives as stated in the content brief. This shows the client you understand and are capable of delivering exactly what they want, making it a no-brainer for them to hire you for insurance freelance writing jobs in the future.

Lastly, deliver quality content on time.

The Benefit of SmartMatch for Insurance Freelance Writers on Scripted

SmartMatch is an automated feature that matches qualified writers with high-quality insurance freelance writing jobs. These jobs allow you to skip the pitches and proposals, eliminating the need to compete against other writers and allowing you to start writing immediately. These are first-come, first-served, so it's worth your time to check your Scripted account often for any new matches.

How to Create Pitches to Win Insurance Freelance Writing Jobs

Aside from SmartMatch jobs, you'll find insurance freelance writing jobs that you can submit proposals for. Writers submit their pitches, then the client awards the job to the writer they deem the best fit. Though every client chooses writers for their jobs based on different criteria, you can increase your chances of being selected for insurance freelance writing jobs if you follow these tips when submitting your pitches:

  • Provide a concise summary of your vision for the job.
  • Illustrate your authority, knowledge, and expertise in the subject matter.
  • Link to writing samples that back up your ability to write about insurance clearly in a way that achieves their job objective.

Set Prices Your Knowledge and Experience Deserve

When you pitch an idea on Scripted, you get to set a price that you believe is fair to the client and your experience. Clients can even send you an additional tip to reward you for excellent work.

Every project has a minimum price that ensures writers get paid a fair amount. You always control how much you charge, but the minimum prevents writers from drastically undercutting each other for jobs.

Manage All of Your Clients From One Dashboard

As a freelance writer, staying organized can be a big challenge. As a Scripted writer you can manage all your customers, jobs, and pitches in one dashboard so you know what to prioritize and what stage every job is in. Each job is placed in one of these four stages:

  • Proposals – pitches that clients are still considering.
  • Writing – assignments with upcoming deadlines.
  • Editing – projects in the editing stage before they get sent to clients.
  • Ready for Review – jobs now in clients' hands ready for acceptance.

You can also use the Scripted dashboard to manage your Writer Portfolio, writing samples, payments, and job invitations.
