Creating your optimal profile as an accounting and finance freelance writer
Your writer profile will be the first thing that potential clients see about you when looking for a content expert to deliver on their finance freelance writing jobs. Every writer must upload a photo, and it's our recommendation you use a well-lit photo cropped in on your face with you smiling.
Writing your bio should be treated as if you're writing your writer's byline. It's best to write this with a neutral tone that highlights your professional writing achievements and why you're a great fit for accounting freelance writing jobs. It's okay to include some of your interests. However, try to imagine what it would look like should your bio end up in a reputable journal.
Your profile will also include your writing samples. Include samples of other finance freelance writing jobs that you've completed in the past to showcase your expertise. If you're new to freelance writing or don't have any samples, you can write a spec article and post it on your LinkedIn profile or personal blog and submit that as a sample.

One of the best advantages of building a freelance writing career on Scripted is the opportunity to build long-term relationships with clients so you get priority for new finance freelance jobs and have a more consistent income!
As soon as you're selected for an accounting freelance job, review the content brief to get an idea of the objective and to see if you have any questions. Send the client a message through the job platform to thank them for the opportunity to write, and ask them any questions you might have. This sets the tone for a communicative relationship and assures the client that their job is in good hands.
Delivering a high-quality piece of work that adheres to all of the job guidelines in the creative brief is crucial to opening up the doors to a long-term relationship with Scripted clients. Doing so on time (early if at all possible) is also a key element to increasing your chances of being selected for accounting freelance jobs down the road.
The Benefit of SmartMatch for accounting and finance freelance writers on Scripted

These accounting freelance writing jobs are first-come, first-serve, but once you claim them you can start writing immediately, and therefore get paid sooner as well.
How to create pitches to win jobs
Aside from getting accounting freelance writing jobs on Scripted from the SmartMatch function, you can also submit pitches for jobs that catch your eye. You'll want to provide a clear vision of how you would approach the job and a quick summary of why you're an authority on the topic. Be sure to include links to relevant writing samples.
You'll also have the opportunity to pitch account and finance topic ideas for blog posts. This is where your passion can shine. You can pitch different ideas such as:
- Staying sane and maximizing your return during tax season
- Tips for long-term financial success even when you're on a tight budget
- How to buy an investment property
- What you need to know about Crypto
- What is fractional investing?
If the client likes the topic you'll get paid to write finance freelance writing jobs and you can get started as soon as your pitch is turned into a job in your writer's dashboard.
Set Prices Your Knowledge and Experience Deserve
When you pitch an idea on Scripted, you get to set a price that you believe is fair to the client and your
experience. Clients can even send you an additional tip to reward you for excellent work.
Every project has a minimum price that ensures writers get paid a fair amount. You always control how much
you charge, but the minimum prevents writers from drastically undercutting each other for jobs.
Work as Much or as Little as You Want
Some writers at Scripted use the platform to earn a little extra money. Others rely on it as their main
source of income.
You can use Scripted to write as much or as little as you want. As a freelance writer, you control your schedule.
Quick Payments for Accepted Projects
Scripted partners with Stripe to get money in your bank account quickly. You can usually expect payments

Writer Tier.
Scripted's platform lets you track all of your projects and payments through a convenient dashboard.
Manage All of Your Clients From One Dashboard
As a freelance writer, staying organized can be a big challenge. As a Scripted writer you can manage all your customers, jobs, and pitches in one dashboard so you know what to prioritize and what stage every job is in. Each job is placed in one of these four stages:
-
Proposals – pitches that clients are still considering.

-
Ready for Review – jobs now in clients' hands ready for acceptance.
