Microsoft is soon to release the new Windows 10 upgrade to consumers. If you are one of over 200 million licensees with a Windows 7 or 8.1 device you can reserve your upgrade at no cost by clicking the Windows icon located on your computer's taskbar. You will receive an automatic notification in regards to this next generation operating system release set for July 29, 2015. Excited? Here a few new enhancements that may dilate your technology engrossed pupils. Browse with Ease Windows 10 promises to deliver a more intuitive, user driven internet browsing experience with more enhanced start menu features. The code name Project Spartan accurately hints to its robust navigational capabilities. The new web browser will enable users to expeditiously search information and store web notes. You can also create reading lists to revisit materials and access a reading view that offers a more proficient visual landscape. Shifting Focus Gartner, the world's leading information technology research and advisory firm, recently reported a growing number of hybrid device purchases in 2015. This number is expected to reach 21.5 million units this year and accounts for a 70% increase in comparison to last year's shipments. Microsoft is prepared to meet this demand with the new continuum mode that will make features adaptable to convertible 2 in 1 devices. If you are using a device with touch, keyboard and mouse capabilities, you will be able to shift gears with ease by changing to various modes. Apps Keep it all in Perspective Windows 10 applications are equally promising. The new apps made available through the Windows store will give you yet another reason to upgrade. You'll be able to move your apps around on your screen with more flexibility and group them together for convenience. Apps are well known for improving productivity, but the new task view will serve to enhance performance even further. What good is an app if you can't find it? Envision Cortana If you haven't heard of this brilliant counterpart, she is formally identified as a digital personal assistant. Windows phone users may already be aware of her ability to assist with a multitude of challenging circumstances. For many she is the go to girl for everything from the local weather to gentle meeting reminders. Although she is well equipped with a sense of humor, her availability to the Windows PC and tablet world is no joke. Now many more will have access to her resourcefulness. Customer Facing At the brink of our mounting security concerns it seems Microsoft left no table unturned. According to a Microsoft blog post by Joe Belfiore, the Corporate Vice President, Operating Systems Group at Microsoft, "Windows Hello introduces system support for biometric authentication - using your face, iris, or fingerprint to unlock your devices - with technology that is much safer than traditional passwords." However, you will need a fingerprint reader, eye scanner or sensor to utilize these tools. Microsoft Windows 10 may have never intended to be the subject of this age old mystery game, but in lieu of those technology oriented professionals who remain buoyant - I spy with my little eye a powerful operating system that will improve productivity and enhance security. Now it's your turn.
