English Proficiency Test

Becoming a Scripted writer requires a high proficiency in the English language. Our English proficiency test consists of a combination of word scrambles, idioms, and multiple choice questions that have been carefully reviewed by our data scientists. Writers are given 15 minutes to complete the test and are blocked from using new windows for the duration of the test.

hiw-sample-question-icon 80% of Scripted writers are from the U.S.

We Test For:

  • Spelling
  • Grammar
  • Idioms
  • Location Collocations
  • Reading Comprehension

Apply To An Industry

The second step of the application process is to apply to a specific industry. We believe in the culture of community and nominate top writers in each industry to become reviewers of new applications. New writers are required to submit a sample of their work that is relevant to the industry they’re applying for, in addition to responding to a writing prompt. This process is timed and checked for plagiarism.

Ongoing Quality Review

A writer’s score is always changing. It can be affected by multiple factors, such as client reviews, timeliness of deliveries, quality of work submitted, and more. By keeping a close eye on the overall quality of our writers, we’re able to ensure only the highest quality writers have access to work on Scripted.
