Located within the burgeoning arts district of Guadalajara, Casa Fayette is the latest addition to Mexico-based Grupo Habita's stable of boutique design hotels.
Curated by Milanese designers Dimorestudio, the property injects an intoxicating mix of mid-century modern and Jalisco artisan in the heart of Mexico's second largest metropolis and birthplace of leading architect Luis Barragan.
While the public areas of the hotel are housed in an elegant white colonial pile, the 37 rooms, pool and spa can be found in the newly added tower block. An air of monastic purity prevails in the rooms, where pale green, multifunctional headboards, which serve as both partition wall and wardrobe, are offset with pure white linens. Claw-foot tubs take centre stage in the bathrooms that are crafted entirely from Carrara marble and exquisitely accented with Mondrian-esque mirrors.
In the colonial house the vibe becomes more Carmen Miranda meets Hemingway, particularly the bar, as the Barragan inspired palette echoes brilliantly lush tropical prints.
