Human-in-the-loop (HITL)
Human-in-the-loop (HITL) is our philosophy where AI manages the heavy lifting while human experts provide the critical review and expertise.
What is Human-in-the-loop (HITL)?
Human-in-the-loop is the operating principle behind Scripted: AI handles the volume, research, drafting, formatting, distribution, while humans handle the judgment calls that carry real risk, like factual accuracy, tone, nuance, and regulatory exposure.
It's not humans checking every word. That doesn't scale and doesn't add real value. It's humans checking the right words at the right moments, where a mistake would actually cost something, so quality scales with output rather than collapsing under it.
The result is a workflow that captures AI's speed without inheriting AI's failure modes: no hallucinated stats, no off-brand tone, no compliance surprises after publish.
Why Human-in-the-loop (HITL) matters
Speed with accountability
AI throughput plus human judgment, you don't have to choose between fast and safe.
Scalable quality
Volume doesn't degrade quality because humans are focused on high-leverage checkpoints, not every sentence.
Real ownership
A human puts their name on the finished piece, which changes both the incentive and the accountability.
Trust that survives scrutiny
When something is questioned, by legal, a reader, a regulator, there's a real person behind it, not just a model output.
Where humans plug in
-
1
Brief review
For high-stakes pieces, a human validates the brief before Paige starts drafting, cheaper to fix at brief than at draft.
-
2
Expert review
A credentialed specialist reviews the draft for accuracy, nuance, and claims, the highest-leverage checkpoint.
-
3
Compliance sign-off
For regulated content, a compliance-trained reviewer confirms guardrails were respected and disclosures are correct.
-
4
Client approval
You get the final call. Nothing publishes without your team's sign-off on anything sensitive.
Frequently asked questions
Does the human review every asset?
Every published asset touches a human at some point, but the depth of review scales with the risk. A blog post gets a different review than a regulated whitepaper.
Doesn't this slow things down?
Less than you'd think. The reviews are targeted and fast because the drafts arrive in good shape, the bottleneck is usually approvals, and Paige compresses those too.
Can we adjust where humans are involved?
Yes. Enterprise and regulated clients typically add more checkpoints; SMB workflows lean more on the AI with lighter review. It's configurable.
