Tips for Planning an Outdoor Wedding

This is a writing sample from Scripted writer Kelsey Parrish-Gonzalez

Are you considering a ceremony on the beach? Would you love to say "I do" in a flower-filled garden? Does your dream wedding take place on an ocean-side cliff? If the answer to any of these questions is yes then there are a few extra things you'll need to consider when planning for your big day. While outdoor weddings may provide a breathtaking backdrop and incredible pictures they often come with a few uninvited guests like noise, insects, and unexpected weather. To help safeguard against these special day spoilers, just keep the following tips in mind. 1. Have a bad-weather backup. Even if the weatherman says there isn't a chance of rain for the next decade you should still have an alternative location for all your outdoor events. Remember that it isn't just rain that could spoil your setting; wind, fog, and extreme highs or lows in temperature are other weather worries. Many popular outdoor wedding sites also have an indoor location that can be used in case Mother Nature isn't cooperating so be sure to ask before you book your venue. Tents are another option for outdoor weddings. They not only provide some shelter in the event of bad weather but they also help keep out bugs and critters while improving sound quality at the same time. The bottom line is it doesn't matter what you use for "Plan B" as long as you have one; not creating a backup for your big day could leave you and your guests out in the rain!
