Time Capsule - HOTEL MONTELEONE, NEW ORLEANS, LOUISIANA, U.S.A.

This is a writing sample from Scripted writer Jennifer Maxwell

Once the haunt of literary giants Tennessee Williams, William Faulkner, and Ernest Hemingway, Hotel Monteleone has delighted guests ever since Sicilian nobleman and cobbler Antonio Monteleone first opened its doors in 1886, less than a decade after bringing his family across the ocean in search of the American dream. Through numerous expansions, the hotel's famed grandfather clock continues to chime in the lobby; the elegant ballroom continues to host unforgettable social events; more than a dozen ghosts continue to call the hotel home, according to local lore; and its legendary Carousel Bar continues to revolve every 15 minutes. Still family-owned, four generations later, the "Grand Dame of the French Quarter" has inspired so many authors, and worked her way into the pages of American fiction so often, that the Monteleone has been named a Literary Landmark by the Friends of the Library Association: one of just three American hotels with that distinction.
