Liz Gilmore Williams placed as a finalist for her book, No Ordinary Soldier: My Father’s Two Wars, in the 2018 International Book Awards in the genre of military history. She worked as a writer and editor for more than 20 years in Washington, D.C., for two offices of the U.S. Congress and other organizations. Her essay, “April Love,” won an award in 2014 from the Virginia Writers Club and was published in an online literary journal. Other essays have been published online. Liz has an MA in American studies (University of Maryland).
